Baby Joy

Lately I've been dreaming of cards and scrapbook pages with lots of white space and clustered elements...does that happen to you too? Do you start dreaming of a certain style? When I saw this week's Retro Sketch it just called out to me and I had to play along. All the elements were PERFECT for using Die-namics!

The papers for this card came from my scrap box. I've used a Tag You're It Die-namic for the tag base, and bordered it in Hot Fudge cardstock for some added strength. The doily is an Open Scallop  Doily Duo. I stamped my Clearly Sentimental about Babies sentiment on a Framed Greetings Die-namic. My Puff Cloud White rose was cut with the Mini Royal Roses Die-namics and I added some Hot Fudge Royal Leaves and a white Fancy Flourish.

Inside my card I stamped another sentiment and added some Butterflies.

Babies really DO add joy to every day! Here's a pic of our bundle of joy, growing every day and making us oh-so-happy!

Here are the Die-namics I've used today:

Hopping with Buttons Galore!

Hi all and thanks for stopping by today!  MFT has teamed up with Buttons Galore & More to do a Blog Hop showcasing products from both companies!  To see the entire list of participating designers, please head to the MFT Blog.  You'll want to leave a comment on EACH designer's blog because there is $100 in prizes up for grabs.  MFT will be giving away 2, $25 Gift Certificates, and Buttons Galore & More will be giving away 2, $25 button assortments.  The deadline to comment is July 29th and the winners of all prizes will be announced on July 30th on the MFT and BG&M blogs, so check back to see if you've won!

I've used the new My Favorite Sentiments stamp set - which you can grab right now for only $6! I've layered a Circle STAX on a Designer Labels 3 STAX that I've bordered in black. Plentiful Petals provided a pretty accent (say that three times fast!)

I've accented my card with some classic Buttons Galore products. The flowers are topped with Victorian Buttons - I love the matte finish. I've used two sizes of brads - Basic Rounds and Tiny Neutrals.

Inside my card I've used another sentiment from the birthday celebration set. Head on over to the MFT blog and get hoppin' for your chance to win!

WSC 82 - Vertical Greetings II

It's Wednesday Stamp Club time! I took this week's sketch in a more minimal direction by not matting my layers, while still adding lots of interest by distressing, sponging, ripping and piercing.

I've used Vertical Greetings II for my main panel, omitting the tab as I had a sentiment as my focal point.

If you look closely, you'll see my ink pad was a little "juicy" and I ended up with some extra ink dots where I didn't want them. Instead of starting over - I just added sprays of ink with an airbrush tool to camoflague and hide the "mistake". If you're going for a distressed look anyway, this is a great way to save a panel!

I used a button in place of the flower to keep my card more on the masculine side so I could give it to hubby :-)

I thought this sentiment from Vertical Greetings worked so well with the one on the front.

Be sure to check out Kim's blog for all the designers playing along this week - you won't want to miss their gorgeous creations!

To play along with WSC, create a card with the provided sketch and upload it to SCS using the keyword MFTWSC82. A new sketch will be posted each Wednesday on the MFT blog and also in the forum. Surf's Up!

Today I wanted to share a card I made awhile ago, but didn't get posted because I was off doing other things...like having a baby!

This is a gate fold card that I added an extra sentiment panel to. The stamps and die-namics are available as part of the Surf's Up! VIP kit - it's the only place to get that cool "Hey Dude!" sentiment, as well as the rest of the exclusive sentiments, so grab it quick if you want those (the kit may sell out at any time!)

I've used the Square STAX for the front of my card and created a little scene using the Wonky Scallop Die-namics and the Sunshine Die-namics.

Opening the first flap of the card gives you this peek into the inside....

...Where I've hidden another sentiment. I've used the Squiggle Border behind the patterned paper to create some wave like scallops.

Here are the Die-namics I've used today:

In the last couple of months three of my cousins have announced they are pregnant, yay! I'm starting to stockpile baby cards, so I made one with this month's sketch.

I used the wonderful Baby Onesie Stamp set and Die-namics. I added some teeny tiny brads as the domes on the onesie. Some gorgeous MFT Buttons add a pop of colour.

Inside I used the rest of my patterned paper, and my fave Dainty Lace Border.

WSC81!

It's time for another awesome sketch from My Favorite Things! I've used the adorable new Monkey Business set for my card, which works SO perfectly with the Vine Border Die-namics.

I used the Vine Border to create my own patterned panel, cutting the vines from Sour Apple cardstock. The new Sentiment Strip Die-namics were perfect for this sketch, and the entire thing is topped off with a new Sour Apple button!

I've tried Michele's colouring method....any mistakes (or changes) are my own, and should not reflect poorly on her genius!

I noticed how cool the scrap piece of cardstock I cut the vines from looked, so I used it on the inside of my card!
