Sweet Treats

Happy Friday everyone! I'm so ready for the weekend and some relaxing time with hubby.

Tonight I thought I'd show another Stampin' Up! project from a recent class - a simple card using the Treat cups.

 I just love this fun pile of supplies - doesn't it just make you itch to create?

I've got M&M's in my sample card - but the girls used Smarties which I have to say, had much nicer colours for matching to that card - these things are important to us crafty types! The colour combo here is Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo and Baja Breeze. The paper is from the old Urban Garden pack. We added trap doors to the inside of the card to easily access the candy.

I've had this one in the archives for awhile now - this was my Dad's Father's Day card this year (Father's Day is in September in NZ) I paper pieced the little dudes overalls, the rest of the image was coloured with watercolour crayons. The papers are from the Basic Grey Granola pack. I added some fun cross stitched detail with my piercing took and some linen thread.

Inside I used a simple Verve sentiment and added a strip of the fun paper. This was a bit of a different card for a Dad, but mine loved it! Don't forget to leave a comment for the giveaway if you're in the US or Canada!

Jolly Christmas Treat Bag

Hey everyone - it's Tuesday so time for a fun new Project Tuesday challenge to try! This week Kim has asked us to make these fun treat bag covers. I often make these with a window in the front, it was a nice change to use images on the front instead. If you need the instructions, you can find them here.

I pulled out some super old SU! supplies - anyone remember Cranberry Crisp and True Thyme? They were In Colours way back in 2007 - I still love them, especially with this Holiday Thyme paper I'm lucky enough to still have.

Isn't that Reindeer just the cutest? I've had this Hero Arts set forever, it was time it finally saw some ink! You can't tell from the photo, but I stamped the head twice so it's popped up from the body on Dimensionals.

Inside I just had to add this cute little penguin. I've also stamped the cardstock with the little snowflakes. I'll add some handmade chocolates to this at Christmas time.

While I had the supplies out I also whipped up this matching gift tag - I think I'm going to do brown wrapping paper and cute tags for my holiday wrapping this year!

Because I Care...

 Brrrr - I hope it's warm in your corner of the world! Here in Wellington it's cold and very wet - perfect weather for fluffy socks, frothy coffee, baking, a little study and crafting! First I wanted to share a card I whipped up for a friend last night using the Clean & Simple 111 sketch.

I used Pendant Park and the sentiment is from the Because I Care hostess set - It's a nice change from "thinking of you". The paper is by Basic Grey from the Periphery range.  I love the way the tree image shows through the slats of the bench - it's oh so pretty.

Red, Red, Red

Happy Saturday everyone! My weekend has started off quietly, Shan was away for the day so I spent lots of time making an absolute mess of my craft room. Seriously - it needs some heavy duty tidying after the day I've had! Fortunately, I secretly like tidying up after a stamping session - any excuse to look through supplies!

The OCC challenge this week is this great sketch by Diane. Before I show you my card, I have to admit, I did leave off the circle sentiment layer. I tried to make it work with my concept, but stamping the sentiment on the main layer worked much better - hope you'll forgive me Diane!

I wanted to play with all the gorgeous reds Stampin' Up! have currently, so my card uses Riding Hood Red, Poppy Parade, Cherry Cobbler as well as white and silver.

Of course, using all those reds meant I had so much trouble getting everything to photograph properly! You're going to have to take my word for it, this is so rich and vibrant in real life! My backing panel was wheeled with the Baroque wheel (I hadn't used any of my wheels in forever!) and sponged on the edges.

The sentiment was stamped in Whisper White craft ink - I LOVE how it almost blends into the background so it's not the first thing to catch your eye, I'm going to have to play with this idea and make some background papers I think.

I've repeated the ornament element on the inside of the card. I'm so glad I stocked up on this silver cord years ago - I always use a lot of it for Christmas cards.

Everything old is new again...

 Don't you love it when your old supplies seem brand new? I was looking through my paper the other day and spied a sheet of this gorgeous old SU! paper - it's a perfect match for the new Peach Parfait colour! Yay!

This is my card based on the Mojo 159 sketch. I used a gorgeous Verve sentiment and created a little butterfly embellishment. The butterfly was die-cut, sprayed with glimmermist, outlined with a marker then I glued on a couple of little flowers from the paper - so pretty!

Isn't that a gorgeous sentiment? 

I left the inside with lots of blank space for writing or stamping a message.

Simple Gift Notepads

Hi everyone. I thought today I'd finally get around to editing the photos I took of the gifts I made for my catalogue launch party last month - I love making notepads, they're a great gift, and doubly so when there are lots of wishlist notes to take!

I use inexpensive notepads from a discount store and just create a cover whatever size I need. These were the tall kind - which is my favourite shape for decorating. The covers are super simple, cut a rectangle and add a couple of score lines for the spine.

I decorated the covers with my fav paper - Greenhouse Gala. How great is that zig zag stripe?! The stamps are from the Apple Blossoms hostess set you've seen me use a lot - I love this one and it's perfect for making notepads.

Inside I added a pad topper using the scallop edge punch. This gives a nice finished edge and helps keep the pages in place too.

The Colours of Fall

Happy World Cardmaking Day! I have to admit, I cheated. I made this card earlier in the week - and in fact, I haven't stamped a thing today at all. Shanan and I have been out traipsing around the countryside all day in the gorgeous Spring sunshine - it's been glorious. Never fear, I intend to settle down to some stampy goodness after sharing today's card with you all.

Our OCC hostess this month is the lovely and talented Diane - she's given us a gorgeous colour combo based on the colours of Fall. It's so nice to finally have the full compliment of Stampin' Up! colours to play with - I'm just loving all the new additions.

The sketch for this card is Mojo #158 - it's been awhile since I played along, was great to work this one in. My image was mostly paper pieced - the strawberries and basket handle are coloured with SU! Markers. The basket was paper pieced after being over stamped with the Linen background stamp. The Cajun Craze layer was dry embossed and I added some Crystal Effects to give the berries a little shine.

Inside is nice and simple - I love the clean look of a wide expanse of Very Vanilla cardstock.
