Every leaf is a flower...

I have another clean and simple card for you this afternoon for this week's Riley challenge. Laurie has asked us to include leaves on our project.

I've used Raking Leaves Riley who was just perfect for this challenge! The sentiment is from MFT's Inspired by Autumn set and will be released this month, I've also used the Woodgrain Fence and Branch and Leaves Die-namics to create a little scene. The paper is Basic Grey from my scrap box!

Be sure to link up your Riley creation on the blog, and visit the other moose-mates (links on sidebar) to see their creations!

Shabby Riley + Copic Colour Key

It's time for another Riley challenge! Heather has challenged us to create a shabby chic card with at least seven layers. I've been promising to tell you the Riley colours I use, so read on for the next installment in my Copic Colour Key series.

I love this Good Luck Riley image, it's one of my faves. Riley was coloured with copics then fussy cut. I added lots of embellishments, rolled flowers, stickles, a stick pin and some seam binding ribbon.

Please feel free to save this image to your computer and use it as a reference.

Inside my card I have used some off cuts of the patterned paper and shadow stamped my image again.

Please visit the rest of the moose-mates (links on the sidebar) and see their gorgeous creations!

 Thanks for stopping by!

Oops!

I got my dates all turned around and don't have a sample for today's Riley challenge - eek! I blame turning 29 (ok, not really, I blame misplacing my "to-do" clipboard somewhere in my stamp room which I am about to hunt for) but I wanted to make sure you knew about the School/Team Spirit challenge! NZ is all about team spirit at the moment with the Rugby World Cup starting soon. Even the supermarkets are decorated with graphics and flags!

Head on over to visit the Riley team and see their wonderful samples (because they're not as scatterbrained as me!)

Summer Fun

Oh how I can't wait for summer! But for now, I'll have to content myself with the new Riley challenge - fun in the sun! Create a summer theme/fun in the sun based project.

I've paired Hammock Riley with some fun Fancy Pants Beach Babe paper. I used the catch a wave die from MFT to create the waves and some old school Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon for my bow. I used my fave kraft cardstock for the base.

Head on over to the Riley blog to link up your creation and see a list of designers playing along today!

R is for Riley

Welcome back to Riley sneak peeks! Today the moose-mates are bringing you sneaks and a challenge. It's my turn to hostess, and we're having a R is for Riley challenge. Simply use Riley, Red, Ribbon and Rhinestones on your creation!

I've used this Route 66 Riley, and because nothing is more American than Route 66, I went with a red, white and blue colour scheme. The papers are from Jillibean Soup and October Afternoon's 5 & Dime collection. The stars are a die-namic from MFT.

Don't forget to stop by the Riley blog to link up your card for the challenge and see what the other moose-mates have come up with!

Baby Card with Riley

After a wonderful weekend away celebrating Shan's birthday, it's time to get back into the blogging swing of things. It's been quiet around here but that is about to change! It's a VERY exciting week coming up, stay tuned for a bunch of fun happenings!

Today is Riley challenge day. The lovely Joy has asked us to use dies or punches on our Riley creations.
I've used Moose in the Moon to create a soft baby card. Pretty simple, some distressing, inking of edges and Riley as always is coloured with Copic markers.
The papers for this card are from the Wisteria collection by Basic Grey. We'd love to have you play along with the challenge, if you upload to an online gallery please use the keyword Riley1311. Don't forget to check out the other Moose mate creations - links are in my sidebar. Have a great day!

Riley Buttons and Bows

It's Riley challenge time again at the Riley and Company blog, and this week Frances has challenged us to use Buttons and Bows! I love a good button topped bow and this was a great excuse to ink my favourite Riley ever, Under the Tree!
Yes, I'm still addicted to using embossed kraft cardstock, I just can't seem to stop! Riley was coloured with Copics and the edges of the focal layer were sponged with Soft Sky ink, then distress ink. I tied a big old chocolate bow and topped it with a Cosmo Cricket button and some twine.

The sketch for this card comes from Jen's SFYTT for June.
A little more paper, twine and ribbon finish off the inside. We'd love to have you play along with the Riley challenge. If you upload to an online gallery please use the keyword Riley1211. Visit the moosemates via the links on my sidebar for even more Riley eye candy!

Bright Birthday

Hey everyone - I hope you had a great weekend! It's Riley challenge time again, and Cindy has challenged us to create a Child's birthday/party theme project. The newly released Circus images were perfect, so I inked up Clown Car Riley.
This is a pretty clean and simple card - I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch for this week. Riley was coloured with Copics and the paper is from MME. I picked up the Lacey Squares nestabilites recently so had to break them in!
I had a Riley order arrive yesterday and I grabbed the Everyday Sayings set - it's a great basic sentiment set. The balloon image is paper pieced.

Head on over to the Riley blog to see the full list of designers with cards for you today and to link up your creation, we hope you play along!

Riley Giftbox + Blog Candy!

It's time for another Riley Challenge and I have a little giveaway to celebrate all my new followers too! This week Silke has challenged us to make a giftbox. I've used Stamping Riley to make a box filled with lots of fun things for a stamping friend.
The box is made from 4 scallop envelope die cuts adhered together. I coloured Riley with Copics then cut him out with nestabilities. I used circle punches to cut out a space for my bow and tag.
My colour combo came from the gorgeous CR84FN challenge this week - isn't this image inspirational?

The box is filled with lots of fun embellishments - Martha Stewart ribbon, Prima flowers, brads, buttons, eyelets, bakers twine and lots more.

To win - simply follow my blog via Google Friend Connect on my sidebar and leave a comment on this post. I'll draw the winner next week. If your email address is not connected to your blogger profile, please leave it in your comment so I can contact you!

Riley at School

It's time for another fun Riley challenge - so pull out those cutiepie moose stamps and play along! This time Frances has asked us to create something school related for Teacher Appreciation Day, I created a quick gift that would work well to say thanks to a deserving teacher.
I've used Cookie Riley on my gift tag. Riley was coloured with copic markers, cut out and adhered using dimensionals. I've added some die-cut flowers, twill, twine and wooden buttons to the tag.
If you upload your entry to an online gallery, please use Riley0911 as your keyword. Don't forget to visit the Riley and Company blog to see a list of all the designers with amazing samples for you today!

Introducing....

Riley! You may have met this cute-as-a-button character before, but if not, prepare to fall in love with this adorable Moose!
I'm so excited to be a moose-mate on the newly extended Riley design team, there are some talented stampers in this bunch, let me tell you! You can visit the Riley blog here and the Riley store here. Riley and Company are also on Facebook.

Riley is offered in gorgeous rubber (wood, cling or unmounted) and is almost too cute for words. I hope you'll enjoy seeing my Riley creations - and there will be blog candy for each release so you may win a Riley for your collection, yippee!

Today's Riley challenge is a colour combo from the wonderful Cindy - Aqua, Yellow and any shade of Brown. I've used Praying Riley for my card and added some flocking to the pom-pom on his little nightcap.

You might notice something new on my cards in the coming weeks - I did it...I finally caved and bought some Copic markers! I resisted for so long, but recently have been frustrated with the limitations of colouring with water-based markers - I'm in love already! I'm waiting for a set of 72 markers to arrive from America, but until then expect to see a lot of browns, grays and skin tones because I have a very limited collection!

We'd love to see you play along with the Riley and Company challenge (challenges happen every two weeks) if you upload to an online gallery, please use the keyword Riley0811 and be sure to head over to the Riley blog for the full list of designers inspiring you today!
