SFYTT February!

Hello, I'm popping in quickly with my take on this month's Sketch For You To Try! I'm going to keep this short and sweet - our whole family has been unwell for over a week and I'm one tired mama!

Luckily SFYTT is always inspiring, even when you're feeling terrible! - I used Oliver Owl to create a masculine birthday card with the sketch.

Oliver was watercolored using Distress Markers. I inked the edges of my papers and cut some banners with the Tag Me Confetti Cuts

Here's a peek inside my card...

The Triple Chevies Confetti Cuts added some interest to the inside of my card.

There's still time for you to play along with Sketch For You To Try, and be in to WINsome moohlah to spend in the Reverse Confetti store! Be sure to link up your creation here for a chance to win. And don't forget, we'll have a brand new sketch on the 1st of the month!

SFYTT January! I Woof You!

Hello! I'm popping in with my take on this month's Sketch For You To Try from Reverse Confetti!

I went all soft and watercolor-y (that's a word, right?) with the adorable little pups from Puppy Love

I created a little scene, masking the dog bowl so I could stamp one of the pups sitting behind it. The stamping was all done in Antique Linen distress ink, and watercolored with Distress Markers for a dreamy look. I finished with a glaze pen for a super shiny nose! The puppy layer was cut with the Tagged Tote die, then trimmed with a paper trimmer.

The background layer was cut with the new Documented Confetti Cuts

In keeping with the theme, I stamped the heart sentiment in pigment ink, then watercolored over top (you can see me do this in a video HERE) going over the edge to give it a softer look. I hand trimmed the heart so I could keep the border large to accommodate the coloring.

I also watercolored a scrap of paper so I could cut it with the little hearts from the Love Note Confetti Cuts set

There's still time for you to play along with Sketch For You To Try, and be in to WIN some moohlah to spend in the Reverse Confetti store! Be sure to link up your creation here for a chance to win. And don't forget, we'll have a brand new sketch on the 1st of the month!

March Diva Inspirations Hop: Spring has Sprung!

Welcome to Verve's March Diva Inspirations Hop. It's the 5th of the month and that means it's hopping time! This month we've got a fabulous challenge that's sure to put a string in your step! So in addition to a comment prize hidden along the hop, you can play along with the challenge and link up your creation for a chance to win another prize!

Our March challenge is Spring Has Sprung:

It's time to ditch the winter blues! Create a card that sings Spring using inspirational quotes, pretty colors and florals or themes that celebrate new life. Whether you draw inspiration from the graphic or blaze your own trail, just show us what spring means to you!

You should have arrived here from the talented Sankari!

I'm fortunate enough to work with Julee and come up with the themes for each month's hop...and this month I chose Spring, because winter has been so rough for most people. Of course here in NZ, it's now Autumn and I think I jinxed things, because our lovely summer has gone with a bang, leaving floods and rain behind! So it looks like I need a little spring now too!

I wanted to go with an inspirational, light, pretty card today. I watercoloured the background using reinkers. The gorgeous sentiment is from Words of Wisdom, one of my all time fave sets. The small butterfly is from the soon to be retired (and 50% off!) Twitterpated. I used the All Aflutter Die set to cut it out.

I'm playing along with Inspiration Emporium "splash of color" challenge! I definitely splashed on my watercolors!

I finished the card with mini brads, washi tape, some stitching and Verve sequins. I left the inside blank, I think this one would be good for lots of occasions. I'm linking up to Virginia's watercolouring challenge

Need a little inspiration? Check out the blogs linked below to see what the other Divas did with the challenge! It's sure to be a treat, and speaking of treats, we've got a prize for one lucky commenter along the hop! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the prize info and deadlines.

SugarPea Designs Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello friends! It's time for the very first ever SugarPea Designs challenge! This is a monthly challenge, and a chance to win some moohlah to spend on some sweet stamps of your own!

This month, anything goes! Just use a SugarPea Designs image, link your creation on the Sugar Pea blog here and you could win $5 to spend in the online shoppe!

I've used Bushel and a Peck for my card today. I used the pretty flower image this time and made it a Mother's Day card. I've watercoloured with distress markers and sponged my edges for a soft look. A vellum flourish, some sequins and stitching finish off the card.

The layout is Cardabilities #91. I used my envelope punch board to create the tabbed panel.

Here's the inside of my card...

Hello, Friend

Hi lovelies! It's Crazy for Challenges time again, and this week I have a sketch for you to play with:

I've used one of the sweet sets from SugarPea Designs today - it's been so fantastic seeing the reaction to the first release!

I've stamped the fence from Tin Can Chat multiple times, masking and overlapping. I masked again and stamped the cutie pie behind the fence and watercoloured with distress markers.

I added the sentiment on a banner and finished with a die cut flower and button/twine combo.

I'm linking up to the Cute Card Thursday challenge - to warm up your card! These summery colours fit the bill.

Here's the inside of my card...

I shadow stamped the other girl from the set, also placing her behind a fence.

We love you Torico!

Hello friends! I'm so pleased to be joining a wonderful group of stampers to tell Torico how much we love her designs and to help send off her lovely digital design shop, Birdie Brown, in style!

Torico will be closing Birdie Brown at the end of November, so it's time to grab your must have stamps now! The hop today started over at Lesley's blog. Start there for some amazing inspiration!

I have used the oh-so-adorable Birthday Bear stamp today. I LOVE how Torico illustrates animals, and her bears are my absolute favourite. I'm a sucker for a gorgeous large image and this one fits the bill!

I printed on watercolour paper and heat set with my heat gun so I could colour with distress markers. I wasn't sure if it would work, but no ink bleeding - yay! (I recommend testing your particular printer ink, I use a basic Canon ink jet printer and heat set for a couple of minutes)

I added some highlights to the balloons with a Picket Fence marker and covered them with stickles.

I coloured on my ribbon with a distress marker then sponged on some vintage photo ink before spritzing with water.

Here's the inside - I've used sentiments from Cinnamon by There She Goes.

Torico, I am SO glad you will still be illustrating for There She Goes, I love your amazing designs - thank you for all the inspiration! Big hugs!

It's time to head on over to see the lovely Jenny now - and here's the entire list of hoppers for you to browse!
