Lovin' from the Oven...

Yippee - TGIF! We're hoping for some warm weather this weekend to get some work done in the yard and head out to see a couple of museums. Lots of relaxing to be had this weekend and I can't wait!

In the meantime stamping is relaxing too!
This is my entry for this week's WSC challenge - to use a food/kitchen theme.

It's all pretty self explanatory I think - the image is paper pieced and I've added some Crystal Effects to the bowl.
I decorated and stamped the inside of the card too - I love that sentiment!

Blogger has a habit of making some photos look blurry - you can always click the photo to see the original size.

Sneak Peak!

Soooo, yesterday I came home to a BIG box of goodies sitting on my doorstep....next month we get a new mini catalogue here in NZ, and this is my fav one EVER!

There are so many new goodies that I've been dying to get....let's take a look at a few shall we?! *grin* (don't forget you can click photos to make them huge!)
I made this card for my lovely and talented friend Beverley (how fun is it making cards for people who love crafting?) - believe it or not, this is a totally Stampin' Up! only card. Big scallop circle, yum - huge scallop square, yummier - cute little birds in cages, adorable!

Even that prima looking flower is totally Stampin' Up! (let me know if you want to know how I made it!)

I LOVE the new Square Lattice embossing folder - you'll see this one a lot folks!
Inside I used a sentiment from Heard from the Heart and cut out another cute cage.

I'm linking this one up to C4C62 - square cards - I'm so glad SU! have square envelopes now!
And because birthdays (and Beverley) are so special, I had to decorate the envelope too!

Keep an eye out for more new product sneak peaks on my upcoming cards/projects - the new mini launches December 1st (right in time for you to splurge on a Christmas pressie for yourself!)

Gift Wrapping Made Easy!

I love wrapping gifts - it's so much fun finishing off a present with a gorgeous wrapping. Sometimes though, you have something that's just too awkward to make a nice parcel out of - Project Tuesday is here to help! This week we're making Genie Bags. I went with a Christmas theme and I think a decorated bag like this would be perfect for any hard to wrap gift!
I used products from one of the Dressing Up Christmas bundles on sale here in NZ this month - this stamp set and paper together are so elegant.
I've cut an oval into the Top Note diecut and hand cut a mat from Real Red cardstock. The sentiment was inked with markers and layered on top using dimensionals.
On the back of the bag I've tied a quick label and added some more of that gorgeous mistletoe paper.

Head on over to Project Tuesday to see what the design team has come up with this week!

SUO Birthday

Hi everyone - thanks for visiting! It's a gorgeous day here in Wellington, bright, sunny and warm. I've been sitting outside enjoying the sun and a good book, it's so nice to finally feel like summer might be around the corner!

Today I thought I'd share a clean and simple card I made for my brother's birthday using the cute Funky Four stamp set.
My colour combo for this card was Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade and a little Early Espresso. One of the things I love the most about our new product range in this catalogue is the additon of In Color markers. I use markers almost every time I stamp, so having these colours is invaluable.

This card is as simple as it looks - I've used square punches to create the background grid from Poppy Parade designer paper and used those adorable toadstools as my focal image adding a sentiment from Picture This (retired).

I'm currently waiting on a big parcel of brand new goodies from the soon to be released Summer Mini catalogue - look out for some sneak peeks soon!

Thankful....

Hi everyone - happy Saturday! I hope your weekend's going well so far, Shan and I went to see Paranormal Activity 2 today, so my weekend started with a few (ok, a lot) chills! Nothing better than a scary movie for date night!

We have a new hostess at OCC this month and Linda has challenged us to create a card depicting something we're thankful for. My card focuses on Christmas, which is by far my favourite holiday - especially this year when my brother Leroy is coming to stay for 5 weeks - I'm so excited!
I've had this colour combo in mind for awhile now....Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz, Tangerine Tango, & Peach Parfait - it wasn't until I finished the card I realised the inspiration was my Christmas tree colours.

I did add in a little Baja Breeze and Marina Mist for a blast of cool, it really adds to the wintery feel of the card....which I love despite Christmas being in Summer here in NZ!
My image was coloured with SU! Markers on watercolour paper. I've used glitter and liquid applique accents as well as popping up the scarf.

The snowflake accent was die cut from felt and cardstock which I glittered after running it through my Xyron.
Inside the card I stamped the image again using Crumb Cake ink and dotted under the sentiment with the fine tip of a marker. More snowflakes and an offcut of the Pear Pizzazz paper finish it off.

Head on over to OCC to see the awesome design team offerings and to link your creation based on something you are thankful for!

Cute Christmas

I warned you - lots of of Christmas projects coming up! I got a huge box of goodies last week, and the very first thing I sat down to make was this adorable Mini Milk Carton using the Big Shot die and products from one of the Dressing up Christmas bundles (email if you're in NZ and want to snag one!)
Cute right?! I have a fun idea for these little cuties I'll show in a few weeks. I couldn't resist putting the oversized tag on the itty box. I know butterflies aren't really traditional for Christmas, but I'd just got the embosslits die and HAD to give it a workout! The ribbon is one of the free ones you can get this month - it's the Taffeta from the Mistletoe pack and it's so so so lovely to work with!

Merry Mojo

Yesterday I saw a countdown to Christmas that pointed out it's only 53 days till the big day - 52 now people! I think it scared me into a rash of Christmas creating. Expect to see lots of little cards and packaging ideas around here for the next wee while!

In the spirit of trying to get my Christmas cards done I took a study break last night and whipped this one up using the Mojo 163 sketch. Simple, festive and with that little bit of sparkle Christmas demands!

That gorgeous ribbon is Sleigh Bells, from the Dressing up Christmas promotion running this month.
I've repeated the snowflake detail on the inside of the card. These were cut with cardstock, the snowflakes on the front of the card were cut from felt and cardstock which I then glittered.

It's time for me to stock my office with Coke Zero and a blaring iPod and get some more study done (I can't work in silence - can't craft in silence either!)

Tiny Takeout Box

Happy Tuesday everyone! This week we have an adorable little project for you to try - the Tiny Takeout Box. This sweet box uses just an 8"x8" piece of card stock, so it's budget friendly as well. For the instructions, please click here.
It was a lovely sunny day when I made my box, so I went with a sunny colour combo - Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight. I stamped the inside of my box with the Polka Dot background, the bird comes from the Silhouette Sentiments hostess set and the sentiment is from Tiny Tags.

Head on over to Project Tuesday to see the design team creations and link up your Tiny Takeout Box!

With Gratitude

November 1st! This year has flown hasn't it? Happy 22nd Birthday to my gorgeous, hilarious, much loved brother Chris!

The challenge for this weeks' WSC was to create a tag - I had this new set I won last month sitting on my desk, so out came some new papers and accessories & I got to work doing some paper piecing.
I've used papers from the In Colour hostess pack together with a little Chocolate Chip card. I've sponged the dress a little for some added dimension. I had to restock on linen thread this month - love it, and I finally grabbed a roll of twill - expect to see it a lot.

This tag is going in my stash, I think it'll look perfect on an earthy bouquet of flowers.
