Dad Day Tag

It's time for another fun challenge at Crazy for Challenges!

This week the challenge is Buttons and Bows! Normally that combo would send me into over the top girly land, so I decided to go masculine instead! I made a fun tag for Father's Day, tomorrow here in NZ.

I started by stamping the Super Dad sentiment on the base of a tag (of course I ended up covering it almost entirely!) I inked the edges and added a quick border with a black pen. I cut flags of patterned papers from my scrap bin. I stamped the flag border and sentiment, and cut them out with a Ribbon Banner die. Love this size, it's just perfect!

I finished with a large button tied with some rough burlap twine. I can't wait to see Jackson give Shanan his gifts, he truly is a super Dad!

The Verve sale has been extended, so there's still time to grab yourself a bargain - up to 50% off!

Now it's time to go see all the fab inspiration from the design team, happy hopping!

Cute right? You won't believe how many images are in this awesome set! I've used just a couple today. I coloured with copics and paper pieced the little pjs - here's a close up...

I curved the sentiment a little before stamping. Here's the inside of my card...

I feel so lucky to be a Trendsetter. This is a wonderful group of ladies to work with! One of the special things about There She Goes is the entire team contributes ideas and sentiments. This sentiment was my suggestion - fun!

Wilbur Blog Hop Challenge

Welcome to our third day of Blog Hop Challenges, where we are introducing the newest sock goblin, Wilbur!! We love that you have been playing along everyday, so keep up the commenting!! We love our fans!!

Wilbur is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 3 stamps and will sell for $9.00. This set will be for sale at 11pmEST on Saturday, August 31st.

I wanted to use these pretty pastel papers - I'm loving pastels at the moment - and wanted to pair them with a dramatic black panel. I remembered this awesome chalkboard look Heather shared last month, so plugged in my heat gun and got to work!

I used a Picket Fence Distress Marker to add a little detail to the image, filling in some stripes and the horns.

The layout is this week's There She Goes sketch! I changed it up to a square card base and lopped off a little of the circle element. I found a pack of black paperclips in a discount bin over the weekend and snagged them as I'm loving black embellies lately. I added a little flag of washi tape to this one.

Here's the inside of my card...

Wilbur was too cute not to use again, I heat embossed him on the patterned paper. Subtle but I like it!

Amalia & Laylah Blog Hop Challenge

Welcome to day two of our new release peeks!! Today we have the newest addition to our super cute line from Megan Suarez, Amalia and Laylah.

The newest Amalia stamp set from Megan Suarez has her joined with a friend, Laylah!

Amalia and Laylah is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 2 stamps and will sell for $9.00. This set will be for sale at 11pmEST on Saturday, August 31st.

These two are just so sweet! I've coloured with Copics, and trimmed a little out of the box style around the images. I left the gorgeous sentiment for the inside of my card...

Isn't that the sweetest? I also shadow stamped the image again in a light pink. I love how detailed these girls are even when uncoloured!

Life is a Circus Blog Hop Challenge

*warning* this post contains excessive excitement and exclamation marks.

Seriously, it's time to get excited, because There She Goes sneak peeks start NOW! My jaw dropped when I saw the outrageously awesome stamps releasing this month, you are going to have a serious case of the wants!

Today we are kicking things off with a new set from Torico called Life Is A Circus....so let's get going!

Life’s a Circus is a 6x8 set that includes a total of 35 stamps and will sell for $24.00. This set will be for sale at 11pmEST on Saturday, August 31st.

I LOVE this set. I'm going to say that for every day of peeks, but really. Love. Torico has given us some adorable images, not least of which this bear! I have him balancing on a ball. I went for a bright/vintage take on this card - I've paper pieced the bears little costume, cutting out his head and ruffle a second time to layer on top so everything is just so.

See that polka dot banner, nope, not patterned paper, it's a stamp and outline! Woohoo - I just love it!

This was never going to be a mail-able card, so I went nuts with some feathers and sequins and lots of dimension. You just have to get crazy sometimes!

I had to shadow stamp another bear on the inside of my card, and added more sequins to those fun burst images.

Would you like to win the new Life’s a Circus stamp set? Go Confidently

Hello creative friends! It's time for another Clean and Simple Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. This week the challenge is a road trip theme.

Here's my card...

I thought this quote from Words of Wisdom was a great take on a journey. I paired it with some fun paper, adding a little scoring and some sequins. It's hard to tell, but the cream panel is popped up.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sherbet Circus

Happy Sunday! I'm writing this on Friday, so I'm hoping that as you read this we're out enjoying some park and picnic time if the weather permits. Jackson is learning new things so fast right now, it's so fun to see what new things he'll try at the playground from week to week.

I made some time this week to play along with the Simon Says Carnival challenge, and the carnival inspiration at Curtain Call. I knew Lisa's Circus Spectacular set would be perfect.

The WSC138 sketch worked well for what I had in mind (I did elongate the middle panel a smidge) I also used the matching Ticket Strip and Circus Spectacular dies. The papers are mostly MME scraps I pulled out of my scrap basket. The colours came directly from the pretty inspiration photo, I love the sherbet colours:

I kept the inside of my card super simple...

I stamped a couple of tickets, doing some quick masking. Thanks for stopping by - I hope you're having a great weekend!

Bunny Wedding!

It's time for another fun challenge at Crazy for Challenges!

This week the challenge is to use animals on our cards. That was the perfect excuse for me to ink up Bunny Duet by Verve for the first time. Wait till you see how adorable they are...

Here's my card...

Such a cute image for a wedding card don't you think? I've used the current Viva la Verve sketch for my layout. I coloured with copics, paper pieced the bows, added some liquid pearl accents and embossed my background. I am obsessed with sequins at the moment (I love that I can glue them on, no more falling off rhinestones!) so I added a sequin border, filling in the centers with liquid pearls. The sentiment is from Wishing You.

You can find all the details about this challenge and how you can win $100 to spend on Verve goodies in the Viva la Verve forum.

Here's the inside of my card...

Nice and simple with a heartfelt sentiment and some more sequins.

Now it's time to go see all the fab inspiration from the design team, happy hopping (get it? hop? bunnies? hehe!)

There She Goes Again - In All The World

Once a month the Trendsetters feature an older There She Goes stamp set, this is such a fun time to rediscover and breathe new life into our beloved stamps. This month I've used In All The World to make a sweet get well card.

I coloured the adorable image with Copics on x-press it blending card stock. I noticed a pile of blue and yellow scraps in my basket, and wanted to use circles of random paper for my background. My card base is 3.5"x5.5". I love using this size as you can hang elements off the edge but still post in a regular envelope.

Here's the inside of my card...

I kept it simple with lots of room to add a message, with the smaller dog from the set looking on!

Head on over to the There She Goes blog to see what the Trendsetters have come up with this month - these girls are SO talented, they always inspire!

Here's To You - Avery Elle

Hi peeps! I have another Father's Day card to share today - it's coming up fast here and for once I won't be late with posting!

This one uses an Avery Elle set that I have been dying to get inky!

I love this card! It always feel weird to say that about your own work, but these stamps are so cool I'm just in love with the results! I stamped the beer bottles, then turned the outline stamp over and used the "wrong" side of the stamp to stamp the shadows. Love that effect! I've combined three fun sentiments from the set and added some twine and dry embossing - must haves on a masculine card I find!

The sketch comes from this months AEI♥U challenge - it was a really great one!

Here's the inside of my card...

I used a gift card pocket die so I can add in a gift certificate (for some beer, of course!) and stamped the pocket with another of the cool sentiments in this set. I couldn't resist fussy cutting another bottle and adding a final sentiment. This is seriously the coolest Dad set ever, I'm in love with it!

I shopped at i {heart} papers for my supplies today! The stamps are from Avery Elle - The Man, the paper is Wonderful Day - Fancy Pants, and I've also used this Woven embossing folder and White Twine. You'll find many more goodies in store, head on over, take a peek at what's new and say hi from me!
