July Diva Inspirations Hop!

This is my second post today, please scroll down for my first post.

Welcome to Verve's July Diva Inspirations Hop. It's the 5th of the month and that means it's time for the Divas to serve up some fresh inspiration with their Verve stamps! Leave some comment love along the hop spots for a chance to win a prize, then grab some stamps and play along with our July inspiration challenge for another chance to win!

Our July challenge is Red, White and You:

Red and white are always classic, pair this gorgeous color combo with a color of YOUR choice! Make a statement or keep it muted, it's all up to you! Feel free to use the graphic as inspiration or not, we just want to see you flash a little red, white and "up to you" color on your creation!

It's sure to be a treat, and speaking of treats, we've got a prize for one lucky commenter along the hop! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the prize info and deadlines! You should have arrived here from Sankari!

I added pink to the red and white combo, using kraft as my neutral and metallic gold as an accent. The gorgeous stamps are from the Bloom and Grow set. The flowers are cut with the Floral Circles Cut Above Dies. I've also used the Elegant Leaves die and the gold leafy accents were cut with the Sprightly Sprigs.

The sketch is Cardabilities #102

Countdown to Confetti! Rocky Racoon

Yippee! It's time! A new Reverse Confetti release is right around the corner! We're kicking things off today with the newest adorable addition to the Quirky Cuties line, Rocky Racoon! You're going to love this furry friend!

You're also going to see a bunch of new Confetti Cuts - there are so many fabulous new dies this release!

I've coloured Rocky with copics, paper piecing his top, bandana and also his head and arm to keep everything layered right (this is a bit of extra work, but it's so worth it for the final effect!)

Rocky is layered on the fabulous new Tag Me Too die, I've used the flag from the original Tag Me set for the vellum sentiment layer and a heart from Love Notes, covered in glossy accents.

The scalloped border was cut with the Double Edge Scallop Border and behind the tag you can see a little of the new Pretty Panels Diagonal Stripe backed with the matching die from Class Act

Here's a peek inside my card...

Leave a comment here, and on all the designers blogs today for your chance to win a $15 gift certificate! You'll find a full list of designers on the Reverse Confetti blog. Comments close at noon CST on July 7th and winners will be announced at 5pm the same day on the Reverse Confetti blog and Facebook page.

Speaking of Facebook, head on over to our Facebook page for ANOTHER chance at a $15 gift certificate!

Let's Chill!

Hola! I'm back today with a bright and breezy card...and oh, how I wish this was a reflection of the weather here! One of the weirdest things about designing is that I'm always out of sync with the newset stamp releases - it's the middle of winter here! Oh well, I can stamp and dream about summer, right?

Speaking of summer, I'm playing along with the Catered Crop Summer Lovin' Recipe Swap. I'm a week late for this one - last week saw my mojo fly right out the window!

I'm also playing with Virginia's View #5 - die cutting! I've used lots of awesome Reverse Confetti Confetti Cuts on my card!

I've used Let's Chill for my card, cutting with the matching Confetti Cuts. The sentiment was stamped on vellum, and layered over patterned paper and a white circle. I've used the Doin' the Wave Confetti Cuts for the background, and the flag layers were created with the Tag Me set. I finished with some enamel dots.

Here's a peek inside the card...

We're SO close to a new Reverse Confetti release, I can't wait to show you all the new goodies!

Curtain Call Birthday Bash!

We have an awesome new sponsor, Top Dog Dies, for the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Birthday Bash!  The designers received some fabulous Tog Dog Dies to work with for this challenge...such a quality product!  The LEAD of this challenge will receive some Top Dog Dies of their choice!

Now, you may notice my card doesn't realllllly look like the inspiration graphic at all. there's a good reason for that - I got so excited about using the fabulous Flower Mosiac A2 die, that I completely forgot we even had an inspiration graphic! This die is just THAT much fun!

I love all the embossed detail on the die, so I let it shine - literally - simply adding some Shine Bright Sequins and a sentiment from Be Blessed by Verve. Hey, at least I made a Birthday card, right?! The paper is from the Hello Baby pack by Simple Stories.

Mini Book for Dad!

Hi friends! I thought I'd stop in and share a mini book I made for hubby's birthday this past week.

I've used a bunch of things from my stash, but the basis for the book came from some i {heart} papers goodies - the Fact paper from Basic Grey and the Childhood Wellington Project Life kit

Here's a peek at some of the pages. I like to add interactive elements, pockets and pull out elements to my books. I think they look the best when they're well loved and a little dog eared!

The glassine pocket holds a little letter.
Jackson loves tags!

One of Shanan's adorable nicknames for Jackson

It's hard to tell, but the wooden geotag has a map of our favourite beach under the glaze. Steiny is another nickname - we're big on nicknames in this house!

Jackson LOVES books - this makes me so happy!

A few mini photos from Jackson's birthday this month

We have a song about wrapping Jackson up like a burrito when he goes to bed...yup, we're goofballs! And yes, he always sleeps with his head in the corner of the cot like that - always has, if we move him, he scoots right back!

Envelope cut down, punched the notch and filled with a journalling card with some of Jackson's new fave phrases and additional photos.

Thanks for stopping by!
