My Stamp Room

Hi everyone! Hope your day is going great so far. Yesterday was a busy day here in the Gough house, we finally got around to our spring cleaning, which, even after being here for only three months was well overdue! Isn't it a great feeling when the place you live is all in order?

I love seeing photos of other peoples craft rooms or spaces. I've picked up a lot of ideas for my "dream room" that I'll have one day! There are some amazing custom designed spaces out there.

Because my room is currently as tidy as it ever gets, I thought now was a good time to share some photos! You won't see an all white masterpiece, but you will see my very functional "Stampin' Space on a Budget"! Shanan and I are currently renting, and we move reasonably often, so it didn't make sense to me to spend a lot of money on outfitting a room, not knowing what kind of space I'll have in the future. Plus, less money on furniture meant more money on supplies!

Overtime my room has been furnished almost entirely in kit set furniture from The Warehouse (a bit like Walmart for my international visitors!) and a couple of purpose designed pieces from Kmart. You'll also see almost everything is on the floor - landlords don't take kindly to rails and shelves screwed into the wall for punch and stamp storage! Watch out for those $10 bookcases you can pick up sometimes....I use quite a few of them in a couple of different ways! My room also features a couple of cat beds - if I don't have a place for my cats to sleep they inevitably end up in the middle of whatever I'm stamping...so the trade off of taking up space vs. happy kitties is worth it!

Happy Stampin'

  2. Thanks for sharing your stamping space with us. Everything looks so neat and tidy. You have a lot of good ideas on storage. I have a desk and a 5 drawer cart next to it. I also have 4 more 5 drawer cabinets in a closet with 2 hanging file boxes for paper storage and 2 color caddies for my inks on top of those. I use an over the door shoe rack with pockets to store my punches. I store my sets on 2 shelves that span the lenght of the closet. The nice thing is that I can close the closet doors and make a lot of stuff vanish when non-stamping company is around. I enjoy reading your blog and visiting with you from the other side of the world. Ad from Illinois, USA

  3. Thanks for sharing!! I also rent, so am very conscious of how I store my supplies. I have one of the Kmart storage trolleys too - it used to be really empty...but since taking up stamping it overflows lol Think I need another one - and the space to fit it in!!

  4. Oh Man! You have such a great space - and it's so.... ORGANISED!! Come Oct 22, that's my mission :) Love it's all from the warehouse and looking totally functional and practical.

PS: adore that song... downloading it now for my MP3 player...why it wasn't done earlier, I've no idea! LOL

  5. that looks great Sarah and we have the same word of Dream in our craft area. It's amazing what you can make a space look like and your craft room on a budget works so well, you did good there. I can see why you need the bookshelves for all those stamp sets.

  11. Hi Sarah ... me again! I feel so happy for you that you have your stamping space sorted & everything at your fingertips! How nice to get organised after your recent move. I feel a little envious ... at the moment I am sharing my space with our dining room ... but I have this fantastic space upstairs tacked onto my bedroom ... but it is too far away from the family! (But perhaps that would be a good thing??? Less interruptions???) Anyway, you have inspired me to get more organised (which is who I usually am!!! :D)I love so many of your ideas ... and especially all the "cheap" ideas!

  13. Thanks for sharing your stampin' space! I, too, love to look at other people's storage and creation stations to get ideas on the PERFECT area! When I started creating my area I knew I had to stick to a tight budget. Isn't it great to be able to create a useful space with little money? I love my space and hopefully you love yours too! Feel free to check out my space on my blog. Thanks for sharing!

    Hugs,
    Priscilla
