SFYTT January! I Woof You!

Hello! I'm popping in with my take on this month's Sketch For You To Try from Reverse Confetti!

I went all soft and watercolor-y (that's a word, right?) with the adorable little pups from Puppy Love

I created a little scene, masking the dog bowl so I could stamp one of the pups sitting behind it. The stamping was all done in Antique Linen distress ink, and watercolored with Distress Markers for a dreamy look. I finished with a glaze pen for a super shiny nose! The puppy layer was cut with the Tagged Tote die, then trimmed with a paper trimmer.

The background layer was cut with the new Documented Confetti Cuts

In keeping with the theme, I stamped the heart sentiment in pigment ink, then watercolored over top (you can see me do this in a video HERE) going over the edge to give it a softer look. I hand trimmed the heart so I could keep the border large to accommodate the coloring.

I also watercolored a scrap of paper so I could cut it with the little hearts from the Love Note Confetti Cuts set

There's still time for you to play along with Sketch For You To Try, and be in to WIN some moohlah to spend in the Reverse Confetti store! Be sure to link up your creation here for a chance to win. And don't forget, we'll have a brand new sketch on the 1st of the month!

Long Time

Good morning! Over the last couple of days I've been trying to organise my craft room a little. Organising happens almost constantly for me, I'm always adding new stuff! My new found knitting addiction has resulted in a LOT of yarn being thrown into the mix. I don't think I could ever have enough room - or time - for crafting!

As I was going through paper scraps, these three fell together and I thought they looked great. I had an awesome time crafting at sunrise this morning, with my scraps and Reverse Confetti!

The stamp set is the fabulous new Love Blooms with the matching Love Blooms Confetti Cuts. The focal layer was cut with a die from the Tagged Tote set and I've also used the Triple Chevies. The layers were popped up leaving the edges of the chevies hanging so I stitched them in place - I like the look!

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Soft Scarf

We have a new sponsor, Hero Arts, for this challenge!  A randomly selected participant will receive SIX new clear stamp sets from the Hero Arts, while the LEAD will be invited as a Guest Designer in a future challenge!

For my card, I worked with the Totally stamp set - it really is totally awesome! I heat embossed the skyline in white and went over with a watercolor wash in the colors from the graphic. I was super impressed with how well the bold images stamped - no conditioning needed!

Make sure you visit each of the designers' blogs for more inspiration!

i {heart} papers - Goodbye (liquidation sale)

This is a sad post to write - after an amazing 6 years, i {heart} papers is closing.

The reasons are numerous - and I'm going to let Kate tell you in her own words. If you know even a little bit about Kate, you know how dedicated she is to working with, saving, training and transporting dogs.

Kate, I'm so excited you'll have more time for your true passion!
Thank you so much for having me on the team the last couple of years - I've been able to work with the best range of products and with some ultra talented teammates!

Did you know I curate the IHP pinterest boards? It's so rewarding to see the amazing cards this team makes!

When I thought about making a card to go with this announcement, I just had to use Lucky Dog and Paws for a Cause from Paper Smooches. Kate helped design these sets and I wanted to focus on all the WONDERFUL things she will continue to do after she closes the IHP chapter in her life.

I'm going to miss IHP so much - but you'll see a few cards from me with my IHP goodies yet! In the meantime, please shop shop shop! You'll be getting a bargain and supporting Kate!

On a much lighter note, the randomly drawn winner for my Season's Giving post is Melissa! Please email me so I can get your goodies out to you.

Reverse Confetti Hop - Sucker for You!

Welcome! Let's kick off with great news - the new Reverse Confetti release is available here NOW!!

I have two projects to share today - but before I share - you should have arrived here from Wendy Sue, our current guest! If you need to start at the beginning of the hop, jump over to the Reverse Confetti blog! Don't forget, we hop on the 8th of EVERY month!

My first project is a pretty little gift set. I've used Heart to Heart as the focus of this one. I kept it pretty and girly with chalk inks, doilies and inked up edges.

My focal layer got the Confetti Cuts treatment with the Arrow Die, Pretty Panels Straight Stripes, Love Note, and the coordinating Heart to Heart dies. I added some zig zag stitching and sequins to finish it all off.

Here's a peek inside my card...

The love word is a negative piece from the Pretty Panels Heart Love Confetti Cuts!

The wrapping on this lollipop was rather garish (and I'm too OCD to stand for that!) so I wrapped it in a doily and added a Square Tag. The embossed line on this Confetti Cut makes it easy to quickly trim with scissors and layer! The sentiment is from the SO useful Sugary Sweet Sentiments

My next project also uses Sugary Sweet Sentiments - although the treat in this one is Sugar free!

I have a little bit of a Coke Zero addiction. You'll usually find an open can on my stamp desk! This Quick Card Panel (you need these..and they are a bargain!) reminded me of a can of Coke Zero so I ran with it!

Did you know the hearts on the Quick Card Panels match the hearts from the Love Note Confetti Cuts?! Awesome! Here I've coated the hearts in Wink of Stella clear pen and given them a thick coat of glossy accents. The silver chevrons were of course cut with the amazing Triple Chevies Confetti Cuts.

Inside this card I used the new Documented Confetti Cuts and the Big Chevron Pretty Panel.

It's time to hop on over and visit with Laurie now, I just know she'll have something wonderful to share!
