Father's Day Shaker Card

Hi friends! Father's Day is the first Sunday in September here in New Zealand, so I've been thinking masculine cards lately. This one is for my Father-in-law. I wanted to do something a little different, so I went for a shaker element.

I'm so honored to be a Catered Crop Recipe Swap winner last week, and I'm playing along with the current challenge - Map It!

I've used a gorgeous map paper for my card background.

The hot air balloon from Up, Up and Away by Verve was stamped, pieced, and I added some sequins behind acetate for the shaker. The sentiment is from Strong Anchor and I've used my beloved Pennant Trim die. I used Black Enamel paint around the edges of the balloon.

The colour combo comes from Dynamic Duos 66 and I used the fun sketch from Retro Sketches 77 which had a cool cut out element.

Here's the inside of my card...

They are faint in the photo, but I stamped some clouds from Up, Up and Away in a light blue ink on the inside panel and repeated the sentiment.

CAS233 - Sequined Birthday

Hello creative friends! It's time for another Clean and Simple Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. This week the challenge is to CASE a card by CAS Alumi, hskelly. I chose to CASE the layout of her card here.

I've used some gorgeous Verve stamps for my card - the stamped background uses Sunny Days, the leafy flourish is from the same set and is cut with the Leafy Sprigs die. The sentiment is from Big Wish. I've added some piercing around the cut out circle and added some sparkle with sequins accenting the stamped panel. You know how I love the tone on tone sequin look!

 I'm playing along with Linda's Sequin Recipe Swap and Dynamic Duos 65. I've subbed in Pear Pizzazz.

I kept the inside of the card super simple...

More stamped buttons and button flowers, another sentiment from Big Wish, my fave Scalloped Trim Trio die and of course more sequins!

Nothing Is Impossible

Hello creative friends! It's time for another Clean and Simple Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. This week the challenge is to be inspired by this song lyric...

"Mamma told me not to waste my life, she said spread your wings my little butterfly.” Little Mix, “Wings”

I added in the obvious butterfly, but also chose a sentiment I thought embodied the spirit of the lyric.

The sentiment is from Words of Wisdom by Verve, and the butterfly is from Twitterpated. You can find the matching Cut Above Die here and I also used the Flourished Trim on the base of my patterned layer.

The colour combo came from Dynamic Duos 64, and the sketch is Retro Sketches 75.
