This week's challenge at Our Creative Corner is a fun one, and a useful one. If you're anything like me, you have a distinct lack of masculine cards in your stash - most of my cards end up being more on the girly side. So this week, we want you to create a masculine birthday card!
Keeping a layout simple with bold focal elements is one way to make a great 'guy card'. It's also a great excuse to pull out those stamps with a more streamlined font.
The inside of this one is simple as well - the patterned paper does all the work. Head on over to OCC to see the always amazing design team samples and to link your masculine birthday creation - we can't wait to see what you come up with!
Paper & Card: Basic Gray, Very Vanilla & Riding Hood Red Card
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black & Tangerine Tango
Punches: Large Star punch
Other: Piercing tool, Ruby Red Button, Hemp Twine, Dimensionals

Paper & Card: Ambrosia - Basic Grey

Ooohhh!!! I almost picked Ambrosia too! Then I saw periphery and decided that the blue/brown mojo funk thing wasn't done with yet, so I went with it instead. I really love your card, Sarah!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is just fabulous, Sarah. I love the dark background and the color combination and the star. They're all my favs for a guy card! Love it!
ReplyDeleteSmashing card, Sarah! I love the eclectic mix of papers/patterns, but it still has a CAS feel to it. Love it!

ReplyDeleteI am just like you ... I was struggling to find a male card in my stash yesterday when my youngest son was off to a birthday party! So ... thanks for this inspirational idea! Have decided to start a new folder in my bookmarks "male cards" so I can bookmark posts just like this one ... for future reference! I so don't get the same satisfaction from male cards ... and definitely need some male ideas! Thanks Sarah! Hugs xxAxx
