Diva Inspirations Hop - Moody Blues

Welcome to Verve's August Diva Inspirations Hop! It's the 5th of the month and that means it's time for the Verve Divas to breathe new life into some much-loved stamps and dies. And there's a PRIZE up for grabs, so be sure to leave a little shout out in the comment section of each blog as you hop about to be entered in a drawing for a $30 gift voucher to Verve Stamps! Check out all the details and prize info over at the Verve Blog.

When I was a teenager, I had a set of nail polishes all in shades of blue - the set name was Moody Blues, and that's what I think of when I see this card! I had lots of fun with ink, embossing and sponging.

To create my focal panel, I heat embossed the botanicals from Abundant Blessings in black powder, then over stamped, slightly to the side with Weathered Wood Distress Ink. I sponged on Weathered Wood, Broken China and Tumbled Glass ink before giving everything a good thick coat of crackle paint.

The circle element was heat embossed, edges sponged and also covered with crackle paint.

The sentiment from Heartfelt Phrases was stamped on a Rounded Rectangle Die. The embossing folder is from Tim Holtz and I finished with some hardware that I coated with black enamel paint, black seam binding and a little piercing.

Here's the inside of my card...

We're celebrating 6 years of VERVE this month with a huge sale! Your favorites are bound to be marked down, since all stamps and dies are 10-50% off during the month of August! Now that's something to celebrate!

It's time to get hopping over to see the lovely and vivacious Susan now, I know she'll have something spectacular to share!
