Riley is going to the movies!

It's Riley release time again, and this month he's going to the movies! You'll see lots of your favourite iconic movie characters in this release  - all in moose form of course!

When I saw Riley Pottermoose I knew it would make a perfect corner bookmark. You can find the instructions to make one here. I cut the edge with the notebook edge die-namic from MFT and the papers are from the Oxford Pack by Basic Grey.

I coloured Riley with Copics and fussy cut him before popping him up on foam boosters.

All the moose-mates will have wonderful samples for you to hop around and enjoy today!

WSC #38 Morning Glory

Are you ready for another wonderful sketch for Wednesday Stamp Club?! I really enjoyed this one and hope you will too.

I flipped the focal panel so I could use the new Pure Innocence - Morning Glory, she was a lot of fun to colour and paper piece!

Not too much to explain here! I paper pieced the dress, who can resist red gingham? I wanted a bold sentiment to match the bold colours, Say What was just perfect! I added the small heart from the Notched Tag die-namics set.

I don't think it shows in the photo, but my new favourite trick is going over those cute little shoes with a glaze pen to give them a patent leather shine - too cute!

Inside the card I shadow stamped the image and added another Say What sentiment. I had the red butterfly left over from the notched tag set so stuck that on for a pop of solid colour.

Be sure to check out Kim's blog for all the designers playing along this week - you won't want to miss their gorgeous creations!

It's time to be a VIP with MFT!

It's time to show you this month's VIP collection! I know you're as excited as I am - because Who's That Girl is in a circle again! And she's joined by a buddy - so cool! I just love these images in circle form, they layer so prettily with our doily die-namics.

Who's That Girl Chooses Hope has an important message this month - this is the perfect set to encourage anyone you know affected by breast cancer, other illness or someone who just needs encouragment in general. I've created a card that would work for anyone going through a difficult time.

This is a 4" by 4" card and I'm sure your eagle eyes spotted that new rolled flower right away! That's the Rolled Gardenia and it comes in the VIP collection. My image was coloured with copics and paper pieced. This image is SO simple to piece, you'll love it.

Inside I have used a larger Dizzy Doily Die-namic and a sentiment that comes in the exclusive set in the kit. The VIP collection is available while stocks last. I have a feeling this one will go quick!

Shabby Riley + Copic Colour Key

It's time for another Riley challenge! Heather has challenged us to create a shabby chic card with at least seven layers. I've been promising to tell you the Riley colours I use, so read on for the next installment in my Copic Colour Key series.

I love this Good Luck Riley image, it's one of my faves. Riley was coloured with copics then fussy cut. I added lots of embellishments, rolled flowers, stickles, a stick pin and some seam binding ribbon.

Please feel free to save this image to your computer and use it as a reference.

Inside my card I have used some off cuts of the patterned paper and shadow stamped my image again.

Please visit the rest of the moose-mates (links on the sidebar) and see their gorgeous creations!

ATC to Card

Morning everyone! I've been busy with assignments lately so it's been a little quiet, but I wanted to share a project I made earlier in the month for my Scrappin' Patch Challenge - to make an ATC that stands alone as a piece of art, then incorporate it into a larger piece.

Here's my ATC using Words of Wisdom and the Curvy Bookplate Die - two of my fave products from the latest Verve release. I added a flocked border and some liquid pearls to my focal panel and added some prima flowers that I cut apart so they would sit how I wanted them.

The papers were from my scrap box and come from the Out of Print collection by Basic Grey and Emma's Shoppe by Crate Paper.

Here's the tall and skinny card I ended up with. I kept the background layers really simple to allow to ATC to shine.

Inside I used another sentiment from Words of Wisdom, I just love how encouraging this set is!

Have a wonderful week!

WSC # 37 - You're My Hero

Can you believe it's time for the 37th sketch of the year from MFT? As I get older, I swear every year seems to go by faster than the one before it!

We have a great sketch for you this week, I went very clean and simple with my card and I adore the results. A good sketch is a wonderful thing!

This is à la modes - Blue Without You. She pairs perfectly with the new Dog Tag Die-namic (who can resist this one? it's only $3.50!) I coloured her with Copics and paper pieced the star and her hand. I added the dog tag element with eyelets and a cool pin I rescued from a tag on a jacket Shan bought, love little found trinkets like that!

The sketch calls for two background pieces behind the layers but I simplified by just embossing a portion of my card to keep with the clean and simple look.

Inside my card I repeated the same layout. This card is going to Shanan who really is my hero every day (you can awwww or roll your eyes now!)

Be sure to check out Kim's blog for all the designers playing along this week - you won't want to miss their gorgeous creations!

MFT Creative Challenge - No Colouring!

In 2011, MFT is working harder than ever to inspire you, and we have come up with something we think you'll really enjoy. Our Design Team Creative Challenge is a new monthly feature, where we challenge our design team to explore their creative side using a specific theme, product or technique. This month, we're all putting down the markers, pencils and paints and sharing projects with No Coloring!

I'm so glad you stopped by for today's creative challenge - not colouring is a big change for me, and I'm sure for the rest of the team, but it's so fun to try something new! I choose to use a Pure Innocence image with lots of details that would keep my focal point interesting even without colour.

I started by embossing the cute Astronaut Girl with black embossing powder on kraft cardstock. I added some dimensional magic inside her helmet to give it a glossy look - the embossing really helped keep this exactly where I wanted it.

To add the little mini pennant shape I carefully cut a couple of slits around her hand with a craft blade and slid the die cut through it so it looks like it's being held in her hand.

Inside the card I've shadow stamped the image upside down, like she's floating around in space. Visit Kim's Blog for a full list of designers that have taken up the no colouring challenge today!

It'll be a little quiet around here...

I'm taking a little break from blogging till next week. I'll be stamping and scheduling posts behind the scenes gearing up for some releases later this month and trying to get ahead of schedule before my vacation in October. I want to make sure I have lots of stampy goodness to share while I'm away!

I couldn't leave you without any eye candy though, so here's a simple card I made with some products from the last Verve release, a couple of square punches and some MME Lost and Found paper.

Have a wonderful weekend....It's shaping up to be a good one here, pizza and sports night tonight (NZ are playing Aussie in an Olympic qualifying match for basketball and in the rugby world cup opening match. It's also the start of football season, yay!) We'll be visiting the Petone waterfront carnival and fireworks tomorrow (hoping for nice weather!) and I'm planning on lots of hubby time as always. I'll also be working on making my sister's jewellery for her upcoming wedding, fun!

I'll see you on Tuesday for this month's creative challenge with MFT. However you spend your weekend have fun and be safe! *hugs*
