Trick or Treat Tag

Yippee, it's Teaser Time at My Favorite Things! We're kicking things off today with this month's Who's That Girl? set - Who's That Mummy!

I've made a tag for treat bags that could be mass produced (maybe without the paper piecing!) this image works fantastically with the Tag You're It die-namic, it's sized just right.

The mummy was coloured with cool gray copics before being cut out and adhered on the paper pieced background. The sentiment layer was ripped and the edges inked, and I added a new Rolled Mum flower cut from black felt. The paper I've used is Portobello Road from MME and a black seam binding bow finishes it all off!

SFYTT August

Once again I'm right on the cusp of missing this month's SFYTT - where did the month go?! This Sunday is Father's Day here in New Zealand, so I made this card for Shan's dad. My dad reads my blog (isn't that cool?) so I'll show you his later on!

This also fits with the masculine challenge over at C4C. I thought Just my Type would make a great guy card. The Oxford papers by Basic Grey were perfect too. I've sponged all the edges in Antique Linen distress ink, the main image is stamped in Brushed Corduroy.

Inside I've used the Typewriter Alphabet to create my sentiment. Hope you have a great start to your week!

3x3 Cards and Giftbox

Hi - thanks for stopping by! Today I wanted to share a giftbox/notecard combo, I love having these in my stash for quick presents.

 
The box is a pizza box - you can find the instructions here. All the decoration is on a removable belly band. The bird is from the Inspired by Spring set, and the sentiment from Clearly Sentimental about Friendship. I've used the 1/4" Rosette Die-namic and one of my favourite borders, the Faux Crochet Border.

The leafy flourish is a piece of paper covered chipboard. I used Martha Stewart gel adhesive around the medallion edges and sprinkled on some glitter.

Inside are a set of four notecards and matching evelopes. The paper I've used is Madeline by Prima. The cardstock colours are Soft Sky and Purely Pomegrante.

Each card is slightly different just by mixing up the papers and prima flowers used - also from the Madeline collection. I fussy cut the bird and popped it up on a Jody booster.

That bird image is so sweet! I also stamped it on the envelopes to easily tie them into the set.

WSC #34 - Sew Nifty

It's time for another great sketch with My Favorite Things! This week's sketch features dual long titled panels, Sew Nifty was a perfect fit!

This paper by MME was a perfect match for the stamp set. I stamped and paper pieced the bodice and used part of the You Move Me die-namic as a tab on the side of my card. I love the little scissor charm die - so cute!

Inside I used a sentiment from the set as well as the Happy Birthday from By the Numbers which was a great font match. Be sure to check out Kim's blog for all the designers playing along this week - you won't want to miss their gorgeous creations!

Sweet Greetings

Good morning! It's a blustery day here in Wellington so far, I'll be turning up my iPod to escape the noise while I create. I have a cute Pure Innocence card for you today using the Sweet Greetings set. that cotton candy is so much fun to embellish!

C4C has a cool bingo challenge happening this week. I've used die cuts, embossing and ribbon on my card, it also works for the paper piecing/ribbon/2 designer papers combo. I've paper pieced and coloured my image with Copics. I coloured the cotton candy pink then did a very light layer of liquid applique over top so the pink would still show through. Lots of Die-namics on this one, I'll list them all at the end of this post!

Inside I've used the Well Worn Greetings Die-namics set to create a window for my sentiment. The little heart is from the notched tag die set.

Summer Fun

Oh how I can't wait for summer! But for now, I'll have to content myself with the new Riley challenge - fun in the sun! Create a summer theme/fun in the sun based project.

I've paired Hammock Riley with some fun Fancy Pants Beach Babe paper. I used the catch a wave die from MFT to create the waves and some old school Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon for my bow. I used my fave kraft cardstock for the base.

Layering with Die-namics

I've been getting lots of emails about the ways I layer Die-namics dies from MFT...so I made a little (ok, it's longish, sorry, I'll try to gab less next time!) video to answer those questions and introduce die-namics to those of you who have asked what exactly they are!

CPS #231

My Favorite Things are sponsering the CPS 231 sketch this week - what a fab reason to play along with a gorgeous sketch! I took the opportunity to ink up one of the newest in the à la modes range - I Spy. I've only started working with this range since joining the design team (because I thought I'd be colouring challenged with them!) and I have to say, I look forward to these girls more and more every month.

Isn't she cute? I coloured her up with copics and fussy cut the image before popping it up on my pierced panel. I added a healthly dose of dimensional glaze to the magnifying glass. My sentiment is stamped on one of the flags from the First Class Award die-namics set and I added a heart from Hearts a Plenty under my button.

Inside I shadow stamped the image in pale pink and added a couple of the cute sentiments from the set. I hope you'll play along with CPS this week - who wouldn't love a prize from MFT?!

Wednesday Stamp Club 33

It's time for a new Wednesday stamp club sketch from MFT. We've changed the time so technically I'll be posting on Thursday, but we won't worry about that too much!

This week I played with a recent Pure Innocence release, Popping By, pairing the image with the Mini Film Strip die and Just the Ticket - I love how well these products all work together.

I pulled out some older Basic Grey Ambrosia paper for this card, I have a tendency to "hoard" my favourite patterns from each pack, so I'm trying to finally use them up! I coloured the image with Copics, then fussy cut it out to layer on the embossed background. I used a border and the star image from the Just The Ticket set and the sentiment is from the PI set.

Inside my card I partially stamped the image and used another great ticket to make this a birthday card for a special friend. Be sure to check out Kim's blog for all the designers playing along this week - you won't want to miss their gorgeous creations!

VIP Hop - Who's That Mummy?

We're hopping today to celebrate the newest VIP collection from MFT - and this month it's spook-tacular! I lightly shaded the mummy image with cool gray copics before adhering her on a paper pieced background. I cut strips of seam binding in half before creating an extra loopy bow - I wanted the raw edges to mimic the mummy's wrapping.

I added a banner across the top of my card to give it that halloween party vibe and my sentiment is stamped on the notched tag die-namic.

Inside my card I lightly stamped the image, omitting the border and added another sentiment, curving it on my block before stamping.
