Pure Innocence: Chrysanthemum

How exciting is this month's MFT release?! I've been missing out on some of the fun, Shan and I were away for the past nine days, visiting family and attending my sister's wedding. We had a wonderful time but it's nice to be home!

Today is Pure Innocence day and today I have a card using the November flower of the month, Chrysanthemum.

I created a large 5x5" card because I wanted to use as much of the new Crown Border Die-namic as possible. I cut the border piece from chipboard and covered it with paper. My PI girl is coloured with copics and her dress is paper pieced.

I've also used the new Oval Dainty Doily - oh how I love these designs in oval form!

Inside I shadow stamped the girl and added a sentiment from the set - love this one!

Clearly Sentimental about Christmas

Hi everyone, I'm sure you've been enjoying all the fantastic teasers from the MFT team so far this week! Today I have one using Clearly Sentimental about Christmas - I can barely believe it's time to start thinking about christmas cards already!

I just loved this sentiment and wanted to pair it with the Hearts a Plenty die-namic (layered over the heart from Homespun Birdhouse) so I used twice to turn the hearts into hanging ornaments. The sentiment is layered over a new die-namic, the Vintage Cameo frame. I've also used an oval from the Layered Label set to cut out a peice from the center and flip it over so the pattern on the back of the paper formed a sort of border.

Here you can see how well that oval die-namic fits inside the new Vintage Cameo. It's perfect if you want to widen the opening a little.

Inside I've stamped another heart centric sentiment on the patterened paper.

WSC 43 - Fight Like a Girl!

Can you feel the year ticking away? It's already time for our 43rd sketch of the year! This sketch features a long thin panel, just right for those à la mode girls and their long legs!

I behaved myself this week and stuck to the sketch exactly!

I've used one of the MFT sets supporting the fight against breast cancer that were released this month. The sentiments in Fight Like a Girl are both touching and hilarious!

My image is coloured with copics - the rest is pretty self explanatory.

I've combined two sentiments on the inside of this one.

Be sure to check out Kim's blog for all the designers playing along this week - you won't want to miss their gorgeous creations!

Fawn-d of You!

Hi everyone - I'm back with another Amber Ink creation. My time as a torch bearer has almost come to a close - but due to some unexpected time constraints I'll have a couple more projects to show you next month!

My card today is a complete CASE of this absolute CAS beauty from the adorable Jodi.

I've used two Amber Ink images, you can find them here and here. I combined them in photoshop and printed them directly onto my kraft card base. I decided I want to pop the fawn image up, so printed it again and fussy cut around it before adhereing with foam dots. The papers on this one are from Echo Park - Season's Greetings.

The large scallops were cut with the Simply Scallops Large die-namic from MFT Stamps.

Have a wonderful day!

Creative Chat: Patterned Paper

Before we get to the Creative Chat today - we have some exciting news at Team MFT - we're welcoming the uber talented Karen Giron to the team!!! Wooohooo! I have been an avid reader of Karen's blog and love her cool, clean style. Welcome Karen, I feel so lucky to get to design alongside you!

It's time for the MFT Creative Chat. The My Favorite Things Design Team Creative Chat is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative spaces and share valuable organizational methods, tools, and shopping strategies with you. You'll be able to peek into our creative spaces, ask questions, and share your own ideas in the MFT forum.  This month, we were asked the following questions:

How do you store and organize your patterned paper?
How do you store your scrap patterned paper?

My patterned paper storage is super simple - and since shooting the video I've outgrown it, so I'll be reading along with you looking for a new solution. You might be a little shocked by my scraps storage in particular!

See the full size video on You Tube here.

Visit Kim's Blog for a full list of designers that have taken up the challenge and get ready to delve into the minds of our creative team!

WSC42 - Love is the Best Medicine

It's time for another great Wednesday Stamp Club sketch and this one has a bunch of fun, tilted layers for you to play with.

This is  great sketch for mixing patterned papers! I've used the newly released Girl Doctor for my card.

I've got lots and lots of dimension on this one - almost every layer is up on pop dots. I added some brads and a seam binding bow, but otherwise stuck to the sketch.

Inside I've used another sentiment from the set, and both the positive and negative versions of the postage stamp border die-namic.

Be sure to check out Kim's blog for all the designers playing along this week - you won't want to miss their gorgeous creations!

Time to Cosy Up!

Welcome! it's that time again - we have another amazing My Favorite Things VIP collection being released! This month's kit is particularly awesome, I'm sure you'll love it!

You can grab your kit here - remember, it's only available until stock is exhausted, last month sold out FAST!

I stamped WTG Gets Cosy with Cocoa three times - twice on xpress it blending cardstock and once on patterened paper. I pieced the sweater and overlaid the gloves, scarf and mug once they were coloured.

The flower in this month's kit is the AWESOME Loopy Bloom. I've cut mine from felt and just love it! You simply fold the die-cut in half then roll it up, super simple and such a cute result.

I've also used the Leafy Flourish die-namics and was delighted to pull out the Snowflake Trio - which is one of my all time faves!

The sentiments I've used are from the exclusive mini set only available in the VIP collection. Inside I've also used the mug accessory image.

Here are all the details on the VIP collection:
Who's that Girl Gets Cozy with Cocoa VIP Collection $29.90

WSC41 - Happy Bird-day

Hi! It's time for another fun Wednesday Stamp Club sketch with MFT. I had a lot of fun with this one and pulled out the new Contempo Cage set.

I flipped the sketch and squished it down a little into a square card.

I just love this set! I've used lots of new die-namics on this one and have popped up the cage for lots of dimension. I also fussy cut the bird and popped that up too.

There are so many options and combinations with this set.

Inside I stamped the perch and chain and fussy cut another bird.
